All delegates and aspirants please note:
The deadline for BITSMUN 2010 Delegate Registrations is 17th January.
The deadline for the submission of Position Papers is 26th January which may be extended but only in genuine cases with prior approval of the Organizing Committee.

Press Corps Deadlines

The registration deadline for the Press Corps of BITSMUN 2010 [GOA] is 10th January, 9:00 AM.
All currently registered Press Corps aspirants have been emailed a qualification test to be completed and sent to bitsmodelun@gmail.com by 10th January, 5:00 PM.
COUNTRY AND COMMITTEE ALLOTMENTS

Country and Committee will be allotted to all registered delegates in the coming week.
The committee allotments will be based on preference and availability as per the Council Preference form filled by the registered delegates.

Agenda/Topics of Discussion:
General Assembly
1. Formulating a global framework for the management of transnational water resources.
2. Developing an effective and just roadmap for the control of carbon emissions in order to combat climate change.
Suggested reading: Ensuring the sustainable development of mega-cities.
Security Council
1. Evolving a comprehensive plan to minimise the impact of war material after cessation of hostilities.
2. Preventing the destruction during war of strategic targets that would result in a large-scale environmental disaster.
Suggested reading: Exploring possible changes to make the existing nuclear proliferation regulations fairer and more effective.
Economic and Social Council
1. Addressing concerns of food security over the use of food crops as bio-fuel.
2. Developing a robust mechanism for the transfer of low-carbon technology to the developing world.

QUARK , a national level festival of BITS Pilani, Goa Campus will showcase BITS Model United Nations 2010.
The festival dates are 4th-6th February, 2010.
The BITSMUN 2010 conference will consist of 3 committees:
1. The Security Council
2. The General Assembly
3. The Economic and Social Council
The conference will also consist of a Press Corps.
BITSMUN 2010 – Imagine, Idealize, Implement promises to be an exciting forum for intellectual debate & discussion.
